A Guide Dog

Francis is a guide dog.  He is a very well-behaved and adorable six-year-old golden retriever.

Francis goes everywhere with his blind owner, Mr George, a widower whose wife had passed away on their 20th anniversary.  He has no children nor any close relatives.  The visually impaired man is lonely, as his dog is his only friend and companion.

Just like every other well-trained guide dog, Francis obeys Mr George’s instructions to the letter.  He has been with his owner for three years, so he carries out his daily duties competently.  He guides and guards his owner faithfully to keep his master out of harm’s way.

When Mr George has to cross the road, Francis guides him safely across.  Mr George depends on Francis as his seeing eyes.  Unlike normal dogs, Francis is not easily distracted.  He is always very alert and maintains his focus on his job, making him extremely trustworthy.  His priority is to make sure his master is safe and sound at all times.

Mr George is very grateful to have Francis in his lonely life.  Francis is devoted to Mr George and is determined to serve his one and only master well.  Indeed, a dog is a steadfast friend as it is the only creature on Earth that loves another more than itself.

About Katherine

Just a female who has time to do a bit of pondering and musing. Otherwise, I am on an interesting journey down the path being a senior citizen.
