It was a bright sunny day. A prince was on his horse, galloping towards the castle when he saw a lamp in the mud. Curious, he halted his horse and dismounted. He picked up the mud-caked lamp. Although the lamp was very muddy, the prince could see it was unique.
When he reached the castle, he gave the lamp to his baby sister. “What a beautiful lamp!” exclaimed the little princess.
She rubbed the mucky lamp with a rag and got the fright of her life. Smoke billowed from the spout and a huge genie appeared right in front of her. The little princess was shocked and petrified. The genie boomed, “What can I do for you, my pretty?”
After getting over her fright, the princess asked, “Could you really grant me anything I wish?” “That’s what I am good at,” the genie replied.
So, she wished that her sickly parents would always be healthy. Her wish was instantly granted. The king and the queen became well and were always in the pink of health for the rest of their lives.
