It had been raining continuously all week.  The water started to rise and soon flooded the entire village in Bau.  The villagers packed their expensive belongings and climbed up the roofs to await rescue.

Many animals had drowned and their carcasses floated in the water.  The villagers would have to replenish their livestock after the flood. They were worried about their huge losses and knew they were in for a difficult time ahead.

After a long wait, the rescue team finally arrived in boats to save the villagers and transported them to higher grounds.  The evacuation centre was the hall of a rural secondary school.  Although many stranded villagers camped in the crowded hall, nobody complained.  After the water receded, the villagers returned to their flood-ravaged homes.

About Katherine

Just a female who has time to do a bit of pondering and musing. Otherwise, I am on an interesting journey down the path to being a senior citizen.
