My mother was sick with a bad stomach flu last week. Poor Mother also had a high fever, so she slept the day away. When I came home from school, I called out to her, “Mom, Mom! Where are you?” She didn’t answer. Alarmed, I ran into her bedroom and found her fast asleep in her bed.
Thinking she might be hungry when she awoke, I went into the kitchen to make some sandwiches. As soon as Mother woke up from her slumber, I brought the sandwiches to her. After eating a sandwich, she took her medicine and resumed her rest.
I decided to help out with the house chores. I swept the floor and mopped it for the next couple of days. I continued to help Mother in the house even when she recovered from her bout of sickness. My parents praised me for being a very helpful girl.
