A Hungry Monkey

Mr. Lim was driving his lorry to sell his bananas in the market one morning.  He had many baskets of ripe, mouth-watering bananas.  He could earn a lot of money for his wife and daughter.

When he came to a road junction, he stopped to wait for the traffic light to turn green.  He waited for a long time.  He didn’t mind the wait as his lorry was right under a big shady tree.  However, he was not aware there was a monkey in the tree.

The monkey’s eyes lit up at the sight of the yellow bananas.  It jumped from the tree and landed on top a basket of bananas.  The happy monkey started to munch on the bananas hungrily and carelessly threw the banana peels all over the vehicle.  Some of the peels fell onto the road.  The monkey ate until its stomach felt like bursting.

After having satisfied its hungry stomach, it fell fast asleep.  Mr. Lim was shocked when he saw a monkey sleeping on his lorry.  He took the monkey home and fed it with more bananas.

About Katherine

Just a female who has time to do a bit of pondering and musing. Otherwise, I am on an interesting journey down the path to being a senior citizen.
