Roy went to his friend’s house yesterday. He was walking along the busy road when a young boy suddenly dashed across it. A car was coming round the bend at a great speed and the motorist could not brake in time.
There was a loud bang which drew the attention of both the pedestrians and the other motorists. They were shocked to see a little boy lying in the middle of the road. He was moaning in pain and there was a tiny pool of blood on the road.
Roy saw a public telephone booth nearby the scene of the accident. He quickly ran towards the booth and called the ambulance. The paramedics arrived in a short time. They dressed up the injured boy’s wounds and put him on a stretcher. With the siren wailing loudly, they rushed him to the hospital.
After a week, the accident victim was up and about again. He was grateful to be alive and vowed to look where he was going in the future, especially when he was on the road.
