A Snatch Thief

By Jessica L. (9 years old)

Last Sunday, Emily woke up at eight o’clock in the morning.  She went to a café nearby her house for breakfast. After a scrumptious breakfast, she walked across the street to the church to attend the morning service.

Suddenly, a thief with a knife in his hand snatched Emily’s handbag. She screamed for help at the top of her voice.  Luckily, a passer-by witnessed the incident and ran after the thief.  Another pedestrian quickly called the police on her mobile phone.

The police came immediately and joined in the chase.  After a long chase, the criminal was finally caught.  One of the police officers handcuffed the thief while his colleague returned the handbag to Emily.

Emily was glad to recover her handbag. She thanked the two kind witnesses and rewarded them with 50 dollars each.  She vowed to be more careful in the future.  The lawbreaker was later charged in court for stealing.  He was sentenced to jail for two years by the judge.

About Katherine

Just a female who has time to do a bit of pondering and musing. Otherwise, I am on an interesting journey down the path to being a senior citizen.
